DNR Furs Program: Cancelled

Meet Conservation Officer Sergeant Dustin Eighmy and learn all about Iowa furbearers – the mammal species that have traditionally been hunted or trapped for their fur. You’ll get up close with real furs and learn about these different animals, their habitat, and various hunting and trapping regulations related to fur harvesting in Iowa.

Members $5 per family
Non-members $15 per family
Suggested for ages 8+, sorry no pets.
Program meets on the lawn behind the Vista Room, bring your own chair or blanket to sit on.

Pre-registration is required by August 27.

Education Program Safety Policies:

The Brenton Arboretum staff continue to closely monitor national and local guidance regarding the status of COVID-19 in our community. In order to protect public health, education program participants must adhere to the following safety guidelines:

  • If you are unwell, or have been in contact with someone who is unwell in the past 14 days, then you must not attend the program. Refunds in full will be issued upon request, otherwise fees collected will be considered donations to support the Arboretum during this time of reduced operations.
  • You must comply with current public health guidelines, which include social distancing and the use of masks under certain circumstances when on-site.
