DESCRIPTION:The Brenton Brenton Arboretum will be open late this Saturday for Family Firefly Night. Come join us for a relaxing evening enjoying the magical spectacle of our favorite flashy summertime insects. \n\n\n\nMeet at the Vista Room anytime between 8 and 10pm and set out on foot to enjoy the sunset as we wait for the fireflies to perform their nightly ballet. We recommend bringing a flashlight as it will be very dark when you leave (all guests must exit the Arboretum by 10 pm). We also recommend wearing mosquito repellent. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and doesn’t require registration. DONATIONS or MEMBERSHIPS are appreciated. \n\n\n\nTo get to the Vista Room\, turn right after after you pass through The Brenton Arboretum’s main gate. Park in the designated parking lot or parallel along the right side of the road. Drive SLOWLY and WATCH for pedestrians–especially unpredictable children. The interior road through the Arboretum will be closed to vehicular traffic. \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: We will check WWW.WEATHER.COM at 7pm. If that website forecasts a 30%+ chance of rain for zip code 50063 at 8:00 pm\, the event will be cancelled. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to all ages.

DESCRIPTION:Join The Brenton Arboretum\, The Blank Park Zoo\, and Iowa State as we celebrate pollinators\, conservation\, and the wonderful outdoor world. The Brenton Arboretum is excited to welcome guest Ben White from Blank Park Zoo on Friday July 26th from 1:00-2:00pm. Ben will present an interactive class for all ages about what to plant and grow in your yard for all those wonderful bugs\, insects\, birds and butterfly’s that are native to our area. Ben will also have a selection of animals from Blank Park Zoo to help with our program. \n\n\n\nIowa State will have their Conservation Station set up from 12:00- 3:00.  \n\n\n\nVarious games and activities will be hosted by The Brenton Arboretum between 12:00-3:00.  \n\n\n\nAll programs are free and open to all ages.
