Hours, Term, and Pay:

• 40 hours per week, with flexibility
• Spring, Summer, and Fall
• $17 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Planting and caring for trees
• Weeding and maintaining shrub and perennial beds
• Removal of invasive trees and weeds
• Working in every area of the 148-acre arboretum

Requirements:

• Must be capable of strenuous physical work in an outdoor environment in all kinds of weather
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Basic landscaping and equipment experience desired, but not required
• Dependability is essential

• 4 to 8 hours per week (flexible), typically between the ours of 8:30 and 3:30
• There is not work every week
• Year round primarily Spring
• Starts at $12 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Leading groups of youngsters on field trips to study various environmental subjects including biology, entomology, and ecology
• Naturalists may also have the opportunity to assist with other youth education programs, outreach activities, adult education, wellness programs, and family programs

Requirements:

• Must be good with groups of 10-25 kids of varying ages
• Clean background check required
• Knowledge of basic science concepts preferred
• Must be able to work outside on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time in uncomfortable (hot, cold, drizzly) weather

Responsibilities:

• Supervising private rental events to ensure safe and responsible use of Arboretum grounds, buildings, and property
• Ensure smooth and problem-free events by assisting clients with whatever needs arise
• Contacting local authorities in the event of an emergency

Requirements:

• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Must have fast-paced problem solving skills
• Must be able to work outside on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time in uncomfortable (hot, cold, drizzly) weather
