Your support ensures the growth and continued improvement of the arboretum for generations to come. Contributions made to the Brenton Arboretum Endowment are a wonderful option to memorialize a friend or family member or leave a lasting legacy. Whatever your special reason, you know you are helping to forge a lasting connection between people and the natural world of trees.
We can accommodate gifts to the endowment in several ways. Please read on to choose the option you prefer.

To Include The Brenton Arboretum in your Estate:
Planned giving is an excellent way to support the institutions that are important to you. We recommend first talking to your financial advisor to coordinate leaving the Arboretum in your estate. Then notify us of your generous intentions by completing the letter of intent form linked below.

To Make a Gift of Stock or Securities:
The Brenton Arboretum can accept gifts of stock or securities. Please relay the following Stock Transfer Instructions to your broker:
- DTC #901
- BNY Mellon
- For a/c 207944 – Bessemer Trust
- FFC to a/c #8H7146 – Brenton Arboretum Operating Custody account
It is important to also contact Melissa at The Brenton Arboretum of your impending gift and its intent for the endowment. Upon receipt of the stock, it will be immediately liquidated and the funds will be deposited into the Arboretum’s Permanent Endowment. You will receive an acknowledgement for a donation in the amount of the funds received from the sale of the stock.

To Make an Endowment Donation via our Endow Iowa Fund at Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines:
The Brenton Arboretum holds an Endow Iowa Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Gifts to this facet of the Arboretum’s endowment have additional associated tax benefits that you or your accountant might prefer.
